Her Self-Care Rituals: Leslie Carrington

Everyone deserves some time to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, so we’re excited to feature Leslie Carrington, a licensed Social Worker, Holistic Life Coach and CEO of HolistiCitiLyfe Travel and Events. Leslie believes in the incorporation of wellness travel into the holistic journey. By changing her own life through clean eating, physical activity, meditation and the incorporation of ancient practices, she effectively helps others to change their lives and enjoy a rejuvenation of mind, body, and spirit. Here’s what she had to say about her self-care rituals.

Daily

I decided about 3 months ago to carve out more time in the mornings for self-care. I am a morning person so it was the best time in the day to set aside “me time”. My days begin by first downing 1 liter of water upon rising, followed by 20-30 minute meditation. I then head into the kitchen and make an alkalinizing warm lemon water mixture. After releasing what needs to go, I head to the gym for 30-40 minutes. This means getting up at 4:30 am but it’s worth it. I feel better, I’m more focused during my workday.

Weekly

I connect with my friends- I try to connect with my tribe to talk about anything and everything except work:)

Monthly

Monthly, my self-care practice is to take a day off and do/ try to do absolutely nothing. I still experience some guilt around this. However, I am working through it.

Yearly

Hello! Travel, travel, travel. But for me not work. I enjoy experiencing a new country and culture just because. Nowadays, I even prefer to travel alone. Traveling solo provides a sense of freedom I thoroughly enjoy.

I'm a teacher, beauty/wellness founder, and Qigong Instructor. My work exists to support women and people experiencing the menopausal transition on their health and wellness journey. I believe in the sacredness, wholeness, and expansiveness of well-being and the menopausal passage, and I care deeply about teaching and creating experiences and safe spaces that provide support.
