It’s been quite the year in my household. After months of preparation, excitement, and angst, it’s finally here. Tomorrow I drop our daughter off at university, where she’ll spend the next three years of her life.
What makes it a bit harder is that she’s opted to go far, far, far away to the United Kingdom. I mean, it’s almost the same distance as California. But because it’s another country, it seems so much farther. Luckily I have a great network that includes my loving family and wonderful friends that are there to look out for her if ever the need arises.
Honestly, I’ve been stressed AF. So much so that my skin’s broken out in cystic acne. It also doesn’t help that my estrogen levels are declining, and testosterone is taking center stage (menopause). That, too, I know, played a big part in the breakout. Anyway, I’m grateful for the resources I have to manage.
After Friday, September 16th, 2022, a new chapter begins for my daughter and my husband, and me. It’s exciting and nerve-racking at the same time. But we will all put one foot in front of the other and pursue the path our hearts desire.
Cheers to new and beautiful beginnings, for all of us!
