Her Self-care Rituals: Keneisha McLean

Where do you live, where are you from & what do you do?

Simply put, I’m a freelancer in esthetics and a marketing consultant. When I’m not busy traveling, pampering and resolving skin concerns with clients, I also help startup brands to develop a strategy for their social media presence and brand position.

I’m Jamaican Canadian. I reside in Toronto. I immigrated to Canada from Jamaica at a very young age. I lived in Montreal for less than a year then my family moved to Toronto, where I’ve been living ever since.

Her Self-care Rituals:

Daily

Lately, I’ve been taking the time to embrace the present moments I’m in. I do this by simply breathing to slow down my mind and body from the constant movement in my day. A technique I’ve learned from my pass yoga/meditation classes.

Weekly

I give myself a weekly at home facial and try to relax and try to lounge around the house.

Monthly

I indulge and allow others to pamper me. Considering this is what I do for people. I go to a spa/nail shop to get my mani, pedi done with occasional massages. This allows me to really be settled while being present in the moment. I set monthly goals/intentions to hold myself accountable for things I want to achieve in life.

We all have a purpose on this earth and by me setting these intentions it also helps me to fulfill or make steps in the right direction fulfill my purpose.

Annually

I do an annual cleanse that involves 5 days of a half day fasting with clean eating and strictly juicing. It’s my own form of detox. Fasting isn’t only for spiritual benefits. It has many health benefits such as warding off inflammation and improve blood sugar control. Usually, this detox takes place at the beginning of the year. I like to explore other detox programs that aren’t too intense or extensive for my body as well.

I'm a teacher, beauty/wellness founder, and Qigong Instructor. My work exists to support women and people experiencing the menopausal transition on their health and wellness journey. I believe in the sacredness, wholeness, and expansiveness of well-being and the menopausal passage, and I care deeply about teaching and creating experiences and safe spaces that provide support.
