Her Self-care Rituals: Parina Daswaney

This beautiful beauty boss blogger knows how to give herself what she needs so she can show up fully. Parina Daswaney shares her self-care rituals with us.

What are you working on, where are you from and where do you live?

My name is Parina Daswaney, and I am a Supply Chain Analyst at Wayfair and the founder of the digital platform Blog Beauty Boss. Blog Beauty Boss is a digital platform (primarily across our Website and Instagram following) where I interview global beauty entrepreneurs from around the world and feature their stories, brands, and products.

My mission is to share the stories of these inspirational beauty entrepreneurs and build a community where beauty lovers can come to learn something new, find inspiration, and discover these #beautybosses and their successful brands and products. It has been an absolutely amazing journey running Blog Beauty Boss, and my hope is that we continue to grow and build our community.

I am ethnically Indian, but born and raised in Kobe, Japan. I came to Boston for my undergrad and currently live and work here.

Share with us some of the self-care rituals you practice:

Daily

There are several daily self-care rituals I have:

I like to start off the morning with a cup of warm water infused with lemon to flush out any toxins, which I then follow up with with a hot cup of Matcha Tea to really get my day started.

I enjoy showering in the morning before I begin work as a way to energize and refresh myself for the day. I spend a few minutes dry brushing my legs before I hop in the shower to really tone my skin.

A couple times a week, I also have been practicing intermittent fasting where I eat all my meals between 12pm-8pm. This helps me feel less bloated and reduces insulin resistance.

I also make sure to take time for my morning and night time skincare routine. I absolutely love this part of the day.

I definitely squeeze in a workout each day to keep fit and healthy.

I finally like to end the night by reading and drinking a hot cup of turmeric tea to relax and help build immunity.

Weekly

My weekly self-care rituals include catching up with friends and family. Especially during COVID-19, this has become even more important for me. I also like using a body scrub, and using a brightening face mask 2-3 times a week. I try to eat 1-2 meals outside as a way to treat myself. I also dedicate my Sundays to cleaning my apartment. It is important that I keep my space fresh and clean.

Monthly

Once a month I like to deep clean my apartment and make sure everything is organized. I also enjoy catching up with friends that I have not spoken to in a couple of weeks.

Annually

Annually I try to take a vacation with my family/friends to really take time off and reset. I also make it a point to receive a massage and facial at least once a year.

I'm a teacher, beauty/wellness founder, and Qigong Instructor. My work exists to support women and people experiencing the menopausal transition on their health and wellness journey. I believe in the sacredness, wholeness, and expansiveness of well-being and the menopausal passage, and I care deeply about teaching and creating experiences and safe spaces that provide support.
