Her Self-care Rituals: Carron Coleman

As we continue this series, it becomes more and more evident how diverse we are as a species and also how diverse our needs are. Knowing comes with tuning in. Tuning in to ourselves and what we need to live optimally and healthfully.

Where are you from? Where do you live? And what are you creating?

My name is Carron Coleman I’m a Wellness Influencer/ Advocate focusing on non-toxic lifestyle and feminine health. I create inspirational content on YouTube and Instagram. When I’m not online I fly the friendly skies as a fearless Flight Attendant. I’m originally from St. Louis but grew up and spent majority of my life in New York City and currently live in Atlanta, GA

Share with us some of the self-care rituals you practice

Daily

I try to spend every morning or evening in prayer with God so this includes reading my bible, devotionals, and journaling. My faith is an essential part of my life and healing journey. I also read declarations daily. My favorite that I always recite is: “Every organ, every tissue of my body functions in the perfection in which God created it to function”.

Juicing is also my daily self-care routine. Some days if time permits I make fresh juice in the morning. Other days I will make enough juice to last me a few days, but either way I am drinking fresh pressed juice daily. Juicing has become one of the driving forces in healing my body naturally and shrinking fibroids.

I’m not a very athletic person however I do see the benefits of doing some form of physical activity daily even if it’s  just taking a walk outside in nature. I like breathing in fresh air and getting natural Vitamin D from the sun.

Also taking care of my skin is a daily practice. Over the years I’ve learned not to neglect my skin. Taking those few extra minutes at the beginning or end of my day makes such a world of difference. My skin has a glow and I feel better about myself.

Weekly

I make sure to take time for myself. I have a lot on my plate between traveling for work and being a content creator. I juggle a lot of responsibilities and if I don’t step away from it all and take a break I cannot function and perform well. I’m also introverted and we need mental breaks to think and process things in our minds. I find that when my mind is clear I have the energy and creative headspace to create and inspire others. I do this by dedicating at least one day out of the week to just resting. Whether it’s catching up on sleep or just simple watching a movie or reading a book. Either way I make sure there is 1 day out of the week that I’m not working or thinking about work or other responsibilities.

Monthly

This might sound strange but I find that cleaning and organization is a form of self-care for me. Just as I said I need a mental break, having a clean space helps me clear my head. If my house is out of order it’s a reflection of chaos going on inside my head. I can’t create in chaos. When my house is messy or my life is unorganized I’m less productive. In addition to my regular cleaning routines, I like to do a good deep thorough cleaning at least once a month. If my house is in order my life is in order.

I'm a teacher, beauty/wellness founder, and Qigong Instructor. My work exists to support women and people experiencing the menopausal transition on their health and wellness journey. I believe in the sacredness, wholeness, and expansiveness of well-being and the menopausal passage, and I care deeply about teaching and creating experiences and safe spaces that provide support.
